<B>Jean Hersholt and Charlie Ruggles Autographed Pictures.</B></I> Two beloved character actors from the Golden Age of Hollywood are featured in this lot: Jean Hersholt (1886-1956), MGM character player, later star of the "Kindly Dr. Christian" film series and the man, of course, for whom the for Academy of Motion Pictures' Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award is named; and Charlie Ruggles (1886-1970), delightful comic actor of such films as <I>Ruggles of Red Gap</B></I> and <I>Bringing Up Baby.</B></I> The Hersholt picture is signed in black ink, measures 7.5" x 12", has a crease running below the middle and some staining to the right of his face and touching his hair; also has a "Please Credit Hurrell M.G.M." stamp on the reverse. The Ruggles, a profile pose, is signed in black, measures 6" x 8" and has "Charlie Ruggles in Paramount Pictures" and "Portrait by Richee" stamped on the reverse.
