German operetta composer and conductor whose real name was Max Winterfeld. He adopted the name of Jean Gilbert for the production of his first operetta in 1901. AMQS on an off-white 4.5 x 4 clipped sheet. Gilbert pens five bars of music in 3/4 time, signing boldly below, “Jean Gilbert.” In fine condition, with light corner creasing and a uniform shade of mild toning.
