French Neoclassical painter (1780–1867). ALS in French, signed “Ingres,” one black-bordered page, 4.25 x 6.75, no date. Ingres writes Martin Magrinal. In part (translated): “My heart is penetrated to its very depths by so much kindness…I hasten to assure you of my sincerest thanks.” Light creases and uniform toning, and the adjacent address leaf bears two small remnants of past mounting, otherwise fine condition.
