Jealousy (Paramount, 1929). Window Card (14 X 22 ). Je Jealousy (Paramount, 1929).
Jealousy (Paramount, 1929). Window Card (14" X 17"). Jeanne Eagels was, in her day, one of America's most respected film actresses. Her portrayal of Leslie Crosbie in the 1929 version of "The Letter" earned her a Best Actress Oscar nomination. "Jealousy" was only her second sound motion picture, but sadly, it was also her last. Jeanne Eagels tragically died of a possible heroin overdose less than one month after this film's release. This rare poster has the added peculiarity of picturing Eagels and her first co-star before replaced, Anthony Bushell. Eagels had chosen the English actor Bushell as her leading man, but he was replaced by Fredric March in the middle of filming. It is possible that Bushell's voice recorded poorly and was unsuitable. The pressbook shows the one sheet as picturing March. Why Bushell was left on the window card, we will never know. This window card has a slight corner stain and the imprint area has been trimmed. Fine/Very Fine.
