Signed inside in ink by over 35 jazz greats, with almost all signing next to their respective entries in the book. Signers include: Charles Mingus, Miles Davis, Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Harry Carney (who spent 45 years in Ellington’s band), Max Roach (considered one of the most important drummers in history), Eddie Condon, Red Garland (who was a boxer who fought Sugar Ray Robinson before becoming a full time musician), Thom Wilson, Wild Bill Davison, Arthur Taylor, Roy Eldridge (referred to as one of the most exciting musicians of the Swing era), Erroll Garner, Dizzy Gillespie, Woody Herman, Milt Jackson (who discovered Dizzy Gillespie), Sara Vaughn, Gerry Mulligan, Lester Young, John Lewis, Kai Winding, J. J. Johnson, George Wein, Charles Bourgeois, Bud Powell, Gene Krupa, Sonny Stitt, Turk Murphy, Hampton Hawes, Oscar Peterson, Peewee Birdland, Shelly Maine, Charlie Marianno, Oscar Goodstein, Phineas Newborn, Pee Wee Russell, Jimmy and Marion McPartland, Red Garland, and Mugsy Spanier. In very good condition, with lists and notations to inside covers and free end pages, as well as old tape and toning, underlined passages and entries inside, partial separation to front free end pages from binding, owner’s stamp inside, and binding and spine a bit weak.
