American Civil War financier and railroad magnate (1821–1905). Partly-printed DS, signed “Jay Cooke, Trustee,” one page, 12.5 x 7.75, December 1, 1876. Northern Pacific Railroad Company stock certificate issued to Cooke for 100 shares in the company at $100 per share, signed on the reverse by Cooke to transfer his shares to another gentleman. In fine condition, with expected office notations and cancellation holes (none affecting Cooke’s signature).
