(Universal Pictures 1975) This machete was acquired by the production for use by Robert Shaw as "Quint". The machete has a metal blade with wood handle and measures 20.5" in length. The machete was part of the private collection of Lynn Murphy (boat wrangler on the film) and was given by Murphy in 1995 to Michael Roddy who produced the Jaws documentary titled, "The Shark Is Still Working" for the 30th anniversary DVD release of Jaws. In the past, the machete was cleaned of rust on the blade and was then displayed in a shadowbox with a still from the film. The machete remains in good condition and is one of very few artifacts that survived from filming. Included is a signed letter from Michael Roddy detailing the history of the machete.
