Japanese mid-size four-panel wooden screen with lacquer and inlay decoration, Meiji period, each panel featuring a butterfly fluttering amid flowers of the four seasons, the elements fashioned from pigment-accented bone and ivory overlay reserved on a black lacquered ground, a name cartouche to the lower corner, the contrasting red lacquered border band painted with sprays of cherry blossoms, reversed by further cherry blossom branches also painted in lacquer and with a few bone inlaid petals, all set within floral-carved outer wooden frames with an openwork peony panels to the top and a lower rectangular panels carved with a similar peony motif, (some wear and losses), largest panel: 36.25''h x 15.3''w
