A samurai helmet with a three-comma design, also known as a Mitsudomoe, a swirling symbol of three comma shapes, is a significant motif in Japanese culture, often associated with the Shinto deity Hachiman, the god of war and archery. The underside of the visor is red lacquered and the inside of the Hachi is black lacquered. The lacquer has dried with age has has many chips/loss mostly on the Shikoro. Liner band present, no liner.
