This is a very scarce Prewar 1904 model Papa Nambu pistol. An evolution of the earlier Grandpa Nambu pistols, approximately 7100 were produced before production changed to the later standard Type 14 model. Blade front and 500 meter tangent rear sights, with the Tokyo intertwined cannonball proof on the chamber, Army contract stamps on the left side of the frame and model markings on the reverse over the serial number. With a brown leather clamshell holster.

Condition: Fair as partially refinished and assembled retaining half of the faded original blue with the balance exhibiting cold blue touch up finish, a smooth gray patina on the left and top sides of the frame and the grip straps, along with some scattered light spotting and mild pitting. Some numbers mixed. The grips are fair, with light pressure dents and wear. Holster is good, with scratches and dents. Mechanically fine.
