Japanese Meiji (1868-1912) Satsuma earthenware incense burner, with domed cover lid, surmounted by finiale of dog in relief on top. Small nip to dog. Ovoid body featuring figural scenes of geisha. Supported on tripod feet and marked on base with Shimazu Crest and maker's mark, Hattori Zo. Late 19th or early 20th century. 9 x 6 cm, 103 grams. Provenance: Acquired from Private British estate
