The piece is believed to be from the Meiji Period circa 1868-1913 Japanese painted ceramic vase. The piece is in reds, blues, base (or white), and gilt gold accents. The wonderful hand done floral painted design shows excellent quality and good condition. The piece was later changed into a lamp in the 1920's (hole drilled into base). Early rare piece. Other than the hole in the base the piece is in very good condition and would be a prize in any collection. Measures 12.5" tall x 7.75" diameter. The vase also has a 2.75" diameter top and 4.25" base. The drilled hole is 1/2".
