The lot features a collection of six carved ivory Netsuke effigy figures from Japan in the 19th century. The pieces show the various different Japanese gods and are all in good condition. These all would have been used on the early Japanese Kimono or Kimono Sash as a button like tab that the wearer would have hung various belongings off of (Kimono's did not have pockets and so the wearer would use the Netsuke to hang various items from the piece). These are all legally taken ivory and are well over 100 years of age. These are from the Late Edo Period to early Meiji Period. The largest is 2 1/8"L. These all appear to be in good condition. Please inspect the pictures for age, originality, and condition.
