Japanese Cloisonné Tea Set By Takahara Komakichi Circa 1885—1895 Cloisonne On Bronze Signed By: Takahara Komakichi Is One Of The Pioneering Cloisonné Artists Who Began To Mark Their Wares. This Artist’s Work Is Primarily Associated With Early Examples Of Shippo-yaki, Typically Utilizing Thick Cloison Wires And Subdued Enamel Shades And Tones, Including Dark Blue, Black, Green And Red. Some Examples Employ Twisted Wires And Areas Of Translucent Enamel And Silver Foil. Almost All Examples Observed To Date Have An Impressed Or Stamped Two-character Mark Within An Oval Outline Located On The Center Of The Base.
