Japanese Arisaka “Last Ditch” Type 99 bolt-action short rifle, 7.7mm cal., 26” barrel with bayonet lug at bottom of barrel band, military blue finish, full length wood stock with two barrel bands, #72193. This gun is in overall very goodcondition showing approx. 90%+ original military mat finish with ground mum, no Japanese characters, Nagoya Arsenal marked, very good bore, crisp action, made without cleaning rod, fixed rear sight, wood butt plate, two slingswivels, metal parts are more crudely manufactured and not as nicely finished as earlier guns, wood stock is overall very good with some scattered nicks and mars and laminated two-piece correct butt stock; no monopod. A very presentable “LastDitch” example when the Japanese Empire was losing the war but still throwing all their effort behind producing armament for their remaining troops. Est.: $200-$400.
