Pencil signatures, in Japanese, of the first three ambassadors to the United States: Masaoki, Norimasa, and Tadamasa on an off-white 1.5 x 3.5 card, dated at the bottom in an unknown hand June 19, 1860. Card is affixed to an 8 x 2 card, along with a note of provenance from George Brewster stating the signatures were “given personally on the 19th June 1860, together with some Japanese coins.” In fine condition, with scattered light toning.
