<B>Meiji 4 (1871) 5 Sen,</B></I> KM-Y1, MS65 NGC. The very scarce first type of 5 Sen. This example is sharply struck with nice gold and blue-gray toning. The fields are prooflike and an interesting die-break completely circles the reverse. This is only the second UNC example of this type, and the first UNC example of this date that we have offered. The other piece (1870) was not nearly as nice as this coin, and brought over $800 in 2004.
