Additional notes: This etching has a lot of the same feel of many of Rembrantd's etchings. Van Vliet entered Rembrandt's studio as a student in about 1630 or 31. Some of his etchings were executed under Rembrandt's direct supervision and possibly using some of Rembrandt's drwaings as models according to Hind, much like Ramimondi did with designs by Raphael. Vliet also executed etchings some etchings after J. Van Schooten and Jan Lievens.
