Jan Joris van Vliet (1610 - 1635). "Beggar Leaning on a Stick" Etching on wove paper from the original plate. 1632 (later impression). Signed in the plate. Dimensions: C. 2 1/2 x 3 3/4 inches. Comes with a certificate of authenticity. Additional notes: This etching has a lot of the same feel of many of Rembrantd's etchings. Van Vliet entered Rembrandt's studio as a student c. 1630. Some of his etchings were executed under Rembrandt's direct supervision and possibly using some of Rembrandt's drawings as models according to Hind, much like Raimondi did with designs by Raphael. Vliet also executed some etchings after J. Van Schooten and Jan Lievens.
