Period field copy of General Wilson’s “Special Field Orders No. 29.” In full: “In pursuance of instructions from the Secretary of War, a salute of two hundred guns will be fired at noon tomorrow, in honor of the victories gained by the armies under command of Lieut. Genl. Grant, and the peace resulting to our country. Lieut. E. B. Rodney, Bat. I 4th U. S. Arty is charged with the execution of this order.” In very good condition, with edge separations to folds, tape-repaired tear to upper right corner, and paper loss to lower right.
