Thoroughbred racehorse trainer (1874–1966) trained three Kentucky Derby winners, four Preakness Stakes winners, and six Belmont Stakes winners, including the Triple Crown champions Gallant Fox and Omaha. Two items: a vintage glossy 8 x 10 photo of Fitzsimmons posing with his racehorse 'Nashua,' signed and inscribed in fountain pen, "To Ken and Mrs. Browne, with best wishes, Always, 'Old Man' Fitzs (84) and 'Nashua,' 1958, Hialeah, Fla"; and a TLS signed "Fitzs," one page, 7.25 x 10.5, personal letterhead, July 10, 1958, in part: "It will indeed be a great pleasure for me to meet you personally sometime in the future… but don't wait too long. I'm eighty-four you know. This is a photo of me in my work clothes taken with Nashua down in Florida sometime back. Hope you like it." In very good to fine condition, with paperclip impressions to both, and irregular toning to the letter.
