Two items: TLS signed “Jimmy Stewart,” one page personal letterhead, 5.75 x 8, no date. Letter to his friend, Helen Johnson. In full: “Thanks for the grand letter. No, I’m not taking ‘Harvey’ to England, in fact I’m not going to England. When ‘You Gotta Stay Happy’ is finished in two weeks I shall take a month off and rest up. Take care or you and Morris will be running that theatre before long. Very funny story about some of the youngsters with braces on their teeth coming face to face with you at the candy counter. Am backing a P-51 in the Bendix Air Race in September—and all my spare time goes into it.”; and an original felt tip sketch of Harvey the Rabbit on an off-white 7.5 x 10 card, signed “James Stewart,” and “Harvey.” Double cloth-matted and framed to an overall size of 22.25 x 17.25. In overall fine condition with intersecting horizontal and vertical folds and light wrinkling to the letter.
