James Russell Lowell Autograph Letter Signed and Etching, 8.25" x 5.25", Elmwood, Thursday [no date]. Massachusetts-born poet and abolitionist James Russell Lowell (1819-1891) wrote this brief letter to a publisher, "Mr. Clark," asking him to make a minor change prior to the printing of one of his literary works. Signed "Yours very truly / J. R. Lowell". An 8.5" x 6.25" etching of Lowell is also included. Both are near fine.
