James Rodgers marked percussion knife pistol with etched blade reading “Self Protector” showing horn grip scales and German silver barrel and mounts. Both blades are marked and the large blade is in good condition with visible etching and American eagle. The blade shows some minor staining and slight pitting but are at least very good plus. The butt of the pistol contains its original mold and tweezers. The action works well andthe barrel shows proofs. The pistol measures 10” with blade extended the pistol portions is 6-1/2” and approx 32 cal. The grip scales are very good plus and pistol is also very good plus overall. Desirable with stampingsand etching. From an old N.Y collector’s estate. Rest.;$1,250-$2,500.
