Pop artist (1950–2011) from Brooklyn, New York, known for his bright and vivid three-dimensional artwork. He designed artwork for Ramone’s May 2001 memorial concert. Original mixed-media painting of Joey Ramone by Rizzi on a 13 x 36 canvas stretched over a wooden frame. Image depicts Ramone in his sunglasses and black leather jacket singing into a microphone, and is signed in the lower right corner, “James Rizzi 2005,” and signed again on the back, “Joey Ramone, James Rizzi 2005.” In fine condition. Provenance: Joey Ramone Estate. Accompanied by a letter of authenticity from the Joey Ramone Estate.
