James Reid 22 Caliber Knuckle Duster
Manufactured from 1868 to 1882, with a total production of about 10,690. The left side of the top strap is marked "MY FRIEND PAT'D. DEC. 26, 1865" and the serial number is marked on the bottom of the frame with partial match number on the cylinder pin and 7-shot cylinder. The cylinder is stamped "MY FRIEND". The brass frame is engraved with a scroll design on a punch dot background and also acts as a set of knuckles for hand fighting.

Excellent. The cylinder retains 80% plus of the original nickel finish with the balance a smooth gray patina with some minor pitting. The frame retains 95% nickel finish with exposed brass mostly on the edges. The engraving is clear and crisp. Action needs some adjustment.
