James Purdey and Sons Best Quality self-opening side-lock ejector, double barrel shotgun with original Purdey case with accessories, serial number 14238. The gun shows 30” barrels, automatic ejectors doubletriggers and side clips. The right bore is choked .25 for (choke) the left bore is choked .18 for (blank and blank) and the wall thickness measures .26 on both barrels. The stock measures 14 5/8” from the front trigger to the end of the checker wood butt and there is a slight cast off of approximately 3/8” at the heel and ¼” at the toe. The gun shows early proofs and later Nitro proofs for 2 ¾” loads indicating return and reprovingprobably through London gunsmith or Purdey. The barrel’s show Audley house address and are made of Sir Joseph Whitworths fluid compressed steel. The barrel’s show 95% to 98% of an English Purdey quality re-finishwhich is perfectly done. The Bores are brightly shining with no problems. The action shows 95% to 98% color case hardening also of London quality. The trigger guard and lever show 95% to 98% English color blue. The
