1917 James Naismith Signed World War I Certificate of Identification. Incredible document was issued by the "National War Work Council of The International Committee of the Young Men's Christian Associations," in advance of Naismith's trip to France to serve as a minister in the war-torn country. Most remarkable is the portrait photograph at right, which is signed in 10/10 blue ink "Jas. Naismith." Certificate shows minor wear in the form of minor spotting and a single vertical fold line, but nothing diminishes the incredible visual appeal. An incredible significant historical piece, and one of the very few signed Naismith photographs in existence. Certificate measures 6x9.75". Photo measures 2.75x3". LOA from PSA/DNA.

Shipping: Small Flat (view shipping information)
