Scalloped-top ship's pass issued to the "Schooner Franklin of Rochester, Charles Smith master of commander…To Pass with her Company Passengers Goods and Merchandize without any hinderance seisure or molestation." Signed at the conclusion by President Monroe and Secretary of State Adams. The white paper seal affixed to the lower left remains intact. Handsomely mounted, matted, and framed with two engraved portraits to an overall size of 22.5 x 21.5. In fine condition, with trimming to the bottom edge.
