James Monroe signed land grant, as President, appointing a portion of land in Ohio to a Thomas Seely. Dated 21 September 1819 at the height of the Panic of 1819 which found many land owners unable to pay loans on their land debt. Document measures 13.5'' x 8.75''. In very good condition with folds and general age wear. United States Land Office seal to lower left corner remains intact, and James Monroe signature to lower right remains very bold and clear.
