Partly-printed DS as president, one page, 14 x 8, January 30, 1810. Land grant issued to George Orwig of Fairfield County for a tract of land in Ohio, under an “Act of Congress entitled ‘An Act providing for the sale of the Lands of the United States in the territory north-west of the Ohio and above the mouth of the Kentucky River.’” Signed at the conclusion by Madison, and countersigned by Secretary of State Robert Smith. Archivally double matted and framed with a portrait of Madison and a name plaque, to an overall size of 27.5 x 15.5. In good condition, with central horizontal and vertical fold, scattered light toning and moderate soiling, some lightly affecting signature, light wrinkling, and light show-through from docketing on reverse. The white paper seal is lightly worn and toned, but intact. Oversized.
