<B>James Madison Partly Printed Document Signed</B></I> as president, Mar. 22, 1815. A military service land grant to David Hopkins, James Barnett and Matthew Irving for land west of the Ohio River for services of seven years as a major & lieutenant in the Virginia Line. Boldly signed in full "<I>James Madison</B></I>". The document is folded several time with one portion split apart but has been reattached with tape.The wax seal is intact and the signature is bold and unaffected by the fold. An attractive early document.
