Pavey of Portsmouth, New Hampshire regretting that he has "<I>...no photo on hand, and find it impossible to have them, friends calling oftener then it is convenient to have them... I cannot say if I can meet your wishes in regard to Gen. F. J. Porter...</B></I>" It was Fitz John Porter's reluctance to attack Longstreet's corps during the Second Bull Run campaign that resulted in Porter's court martial in 1863. Fine condition.
