American boxer (1905–1974) who was heavyweight champion of the world from 1935 to 1937 and whose career was dramatized in the Oscar-nominated 2005 film Cinderella Man. Vintage matte-finish 8 x 10 photo of Braddock in a suit and tie, signed and inscribed in fountain pen “To Packy [sic] O’Gatty, a great fellow and a great fighter. Best wishes, Jimmy Braddock, 2/23/37.” Double matted and framed to an overall size of 13.5 x 16. Featherweight/Bantamweight Packey O’Gatty (1900-1966) boxed professionally from 1915-1928, and was known as the “Speed Demon”. In fine condition.
