Governor of Pennsylvania, Hamilton (ca. 1710-1783) here writes in part: "<I>As I look upon His Majesty's Service, as well as the security of the Province to be nearly concern'd in your complying with General Amherst's requisition…I was in hopes, before this time, to have received an answer signifying your willingness to accede to the measure therein recommended.
