New York Mayor James Duane, "pursuant to an Order of the Common Council," directs the city's treasurer, Daniel Phoenix, to "pay out of the Revenue Fund to Mrs. Mary Shaw the sum of forty right Pounds six Shillings with Interest at the rate of five per cent per annum…in full as Compensation for the Injury sustained by her Lot of Ground in consequence of the Alteration of Greenwich Street." Signed at the conclusion by Duane. In fine condition, with scattered light toning.
