James Dean Portrait Cracked on Death Anniversary
Pastel Portrait of James Dean, Cracked on the First Anniversary of His Death. This 7.5" x 9.5" pastel portrait was drawn by James Dean fan Tony Lucev shortly after the actor's death, framed, and placed in a closet for temporary storage. On September 30, 1956 at 10 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time -- approximately one full year after Dean's death -- the picture fell from its storage place and the glass in the fram was cracked. The drawing, still in its cracked frame, has been matted and framed along with a letter from Lucev to the James Dean Gallery detailing the incident as well as December 18, 1958 letter to Lucev from Duke University's Parapsychology Laboratory, to an overall size of 14" x 32". All items are in Excellent condition and more than a little spooky.
