James Cagney autograph letter signed, dated 6 April 1970 to ''Ann''. Cagney had been in retirement since the early 1960's. He opines about a letter from Mrs. McGuire who ''writes with an Irish rythm [sic]'' and then about an article in a magazine. Letter reads in part, ''...An Irish magazine was sent to me in 1959 which I didn't see till last week...In it is a piece by a Margaret Holland. Good writer and no nonsense. It struck me that she writes as Eric Severeid [sic] reads his comments on the news. Same beat...'' He signs, ''Jim C.'' Light soiling to 7.25'' x 10.5'' two page letter, with horizontal fold passing through the signature and a few pencil notations, else near fine. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
