McBride and Company, 1927), third printing, 271 pages, untrimmed, illustrated, black-cloth binding with gold lettering and illustrations, illustrated endpapers, 8vo (9.5” x 6.25”). The prolific author James Branch Cabell (1879-1958) worked as a journalist before expanding his repertoire to short stories, novels, poetry, and geneology. <I>Figures of Earth: A Comedy of Appearances</B></I> was first published in 1921. This 1927 edition illustrated by Frank C.
