Garfield,” and also signed “Lamar.” Lamar was a Democratic Representative from Mississippi. During the Civil War he served in various Confederate positions and after the war returned to Washington in the Cabinet and Supreme Court. Central vertical fold, small hole to center of page, and uniform toning, otherwise fine condition.
