Comprises: 1.) "Garfield's Implacable Hatred of the Southern People! / Glance at a Dark Record," small four page 4to pamphlet, R.O. Polkinhorn, Washington, D.C., circa 1880. 2.) "Reasons Why Workingmen Should Vote For Garfield and Arthur," double-sided [one side in English, the other in German] oblong 16mo on blue card stock. Contains warnings about the Democrats promise of reducing the import duties upon common goods coming from Europe. 3.) "United States Government Church," two page 16mo handbill on pink paper. Contains a pro-Spritualist, and semi incoherent, attack upon "The United States Church of Women." Named enemies are Grant, Hayes, and Garfield. 4.) Engraved 32mo card imprinted "For President of the United States. / James A. Garfield. / Of the State of Ohio." 5.) Printed boarding house advertising card issued by "C.W. Ripley's Dining Room." Bears a portrait of Garfield.
