In the present rython is an archaistic vessel in exceptional form made of gently toned jade. The rhyton is a shape imported from Western or Central Asia. Vessels of this kind made from jade were introduced to China during the Han dynasty (206 BC – 220 AD), when Western luxuries were popular at the imperial court.

Condition: The rython is in good condition with light signs of age. The adhesion of the rython onto the wooden base is reversible. The height (with base) is 24.5 cm.
