Jacqueline Kennedy Writes About the JFK Library TLS: "Most Sincerely/Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis," 1p, 5.5" x 9". New York, February 3, 1973. To David E. Bell, The Ford Foundation. In full: "It is with the deepest appreciation that I write thanking you for the time and effort you have devoted to the oral history interviews for the John F. Kennedy Library. Your contribution will--in future years--be of the utmost importance to those compiling a history of President Kennedy's administration, and I shall always be grateful to you for the part you played in this project." "Dear Mr Bell" is handwritten by Mrs. Onassis in the salutation. David E. Bell served under Presidents Kennedy and Johnson as Administrator of the USAID program (1963-1966) and was Executive Vice President of the Ford Foundation from 1966-1981. The John F. Kennedy Library Archives includes oral history interviews with over 1,300 people. Mrs. Onassis' signature in full as "Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis" is rare and desirable, as are her letters mentioning President Kennedy. Paper clip indent at upper left edge, else in very fine condition.
