Female pilot (1906-1980) who was the first of her gender to break the sound barrier and is said to have more aviation records and awards than any pilot in the United States. Also a close friend of Chuck Yeager and Dwight D. Eisenhower. Vintage matte-finish 8 x 10 photo of Cochran climbing out of her cockpit, signed and inscribed in fountain pen “To Mr. Flournoy, with all good wishes, Jackie Cochran 5/2/41.” In fine condition, with mild rippling along bottom edge, and a bit of scattered trivial soiling.
