<B>Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy Autograph Letter Signed</B></I> "<I>Jackie XXX.</B></I> Nine pages, 8" x 10", np, November 12th, no year. On her "JCB" stationery, this is a revealing letter written by Jackie as a teenager. Written to a friend named "Woodley" as part of an ongoing correspondence, it appears that Woodley was in England during this wartime period. It is a bubbly letter mainly with gossip and social commentary, although there is a charming description of a discourse by a pretentious teenage boy on the subject of (French Collaborating Leader Marshall) Petain. We cannot emphasize enough that one should go to our web site and read this letter in its entirety; it gives an incredible glimpse into the life and mind of a bright, active upper-class teenage girl in those days. Among the many interesting elements: she tells Woodley about a boy Nicky (Hilton?), who spoke glowingly of Woodley at a party. "<I>I agreed so heartily I'm sure he thought I was a Lesbian</B></I>". She tells about doing the N.Y. scene with her socialite father, and then going "<I>up to New Haven with him Saturday to see the Harvard - Yale game.</B></I>" Jackie tells of boys, ones she'd kiss and ones she wouldn't: "<I>Buddy, it's all physical - but no one else can see it at all, and looks at me as though I'm insaneneither of them (Buddy or John) have kissed me - I'd upchuck if John did - and love it if Buddy did, except I wouldn't let him the first time</B></I>". She writes of a well known socialite: "<I>Joan Metzgers coming out and there was this sexy picture of her in the paper and her dress couldn't have been any lower. She'll probably be the No. 1 deb this year</B></I>". Her friends: "<I>Rosie and Tanya are still going strong with their little lifeguards</B></I>" she writes, and talks about a rumored pregnancy for Rosie. "<I>Lauren Bacall's having a baby!</B></I>", she gushes and beseeches Woodley that: "<I>if she sees Noel Coward, give him mypassionate love and cut me a lock of his greasy and disappearing hair!</B></I>". Rarely have we ever read a letter that is more evocative in terms of giving the reader a real sense of what the writer was about! A treasure for the generalist collector, but especially so for collectors of this iconic First Lady who dominated the public mind for some 40 years after her fairy-tale wedding to John F. Kennedy in 1953. Fine condition.
