<B>Jacksonville, FL</B></I> - $100 1902 Date Back Fr. 689 <B>The Atlantic NB</B></I> Ch. # (S)6888<BR> This is the only $100 Date Back or Plain Back known from all Florida banks combined, not that there were many issuers of high denomination examples during the period 1908 through 1929. Just three banks elected to issue $100 Date Backs, with a total of only 1300 pieces produced for all three issuers. Interestingly, while this is the sole Blue Seal hundred known from Florida, the census stands at three $100 Red Seals, all from this bank and all celebrated as the rarities they are. As this is the only $100 Date or Plain Back known from Florida, it stands as the key piece to completing a set of this state's Nationals by type and denomination, a feat which can only be accomplished by the bidder determined enough to outlast his compatriots and bring this trophy note home.
