Exceedingly rare fountain pen signature, “This seems easier—Jackson Pollock,” on a trimmed page from a 1949 Betty Parsons Gallery exhibition flyer, with the image illustrated in the flyer affixed above. The page is affixed to a typewritten biographical sheet along with two other clipped magazine images of Pollock at work. In fine condition.

Jackson Pollock's third solo show at the Betty Parsons Gallery took place from November 21–December 10, 1949, and it was his most successful yet. He had publicly revealed his drip paintings for the first time at the Parsons Gallery in 1948, receiving an underwhelming response and selling just one painting. He sold nine paintings at his second exhibition, and at this third show he sold eighteen of the twenty-seven displayed. Nicely presented and of the utmost rarity, this Pollock signature is immensely desirable and represents the height of 20th century American art.
