Jackie Coogan Child's Suit. Long before he was ca
Jackie Coogan Child's Suit. Long before he was cast as Uncle Fester on the popular "Addams Family" sitcom, actor Jackie Coogan had established himself as a vaudevillian star by age four, enough so that he soon caught the eye of Charles Chaplin and was often cast opposite the legendary comedian. Unfortunately, his career as a child star petered out by the time he was 13, and in 1935, when his mother and stepfather refused to let him have the $4 million that he had amassed during his child acting days, he filed suit against them. He received a paltry $126,000 settlement, but the high-profile legal battle led to the passing of the "California Child Actor's Bill," also known as the "Coogan Act," which protected the earnings of child actors. Featured is a pint-sized plum-colored, double-breasted suit worn by Coogan as a child. In excellent condition.
