Jack Swigert's own official NASA ID badge. Mustard yellow badge has ''Swigert / Astronaut / Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center / NASA'' printed beneath a black and white photo of the Command Module Pilot smiling in a suit. The crew endured incredible circumstances after launching 11 April 1970, when two days later, they were forced into an emergency turn-around before ever reaching the moon. Swigert was the astronaut who made the famous dramatic announcement, ''Houston, we've had a problem here''. Fortunately the astronauts expertly improvised a repair to the spacecraft and narrowly escaped disaster, ultimately returning safely to Earth. Verso of badge lists its number as ''A-036'' with his full name printed and a warning of the badge's issuing rules, signed by a U.S. security officer in purple. Measures 2.5'' x 3.75'' and is in fine condition. With an LOA from Swigert's sister.
