The "King" was back. Though he worked at Marvel for less than four more years, he managed to produce a nice body of work that hearkened back to the Silver Age including this great "floating heads" cover featuring one of Kirby's greatest creations, the Thing. The detailed cityscapes, crowd of onlookers that are held back by the patrolman, and exciting clash of titans are trademark images that have established Kirby's position as the most influential person to ever work in the comic industry. This is a nice piece that has restoration which includes: cleaning and pressing, tape on the back where the black line border was split on three sides, replacement of the "AND THE" stat, and replacement of the bottom text blurb stat. The approximate size of this cover art is 11.5" x 17". Jack Kirby signed the cover in the bar code area. <B>Estimate: $2,000-up</B> </FONT></TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE></TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE><BR><!--<a name="PricesRealized"></a> <table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" bgcolor="#000000"> <tr> <td width="100%"> <table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="1" cellpadding="3"> <tr> <td width="100%" bgcolor="#79735C"> <a name="PR"> <font face="arial" size="3" color="#FFFFFF"> <b>Previous Prices from Heritage Auctions</b> </td> </tr> <tr> <td bgcolor="#F6F6ED"> No Prior Data Recorded </td> </tr> <tr> <td bgcolor="#FFFFFF"> <font face="arial" size="1""> PLEASE NOTE: All prices realized reflect the final hammer price PLUS the buyer's premium in auctions that charge a buyer's premium.
